About the Guild

Who's Behind It

I'm Matthew Leopin, and I built this.

Who's behind it

One person, honestly.

I'm 53. I've been rolling dice since the “red box,” which means I've run games with graph paper, with three-ring binders full of printouts, and now with sixteen browser tabs open. I've been a forever-DM, and I've been running my homebrew Galthour: Kingdoms to Conquer campaign for 10 years with the same group online.

Software is my second career. I spent fifteen years in retail management first — scheduling people, running a floor, and dealing with whatever walked through the door — and then spent the last fourteen as a software engineer building systems for federal programs, hospitals, banks, and retailers. The kind of work where a database losing someone's records is a very bad day for real people. I do that Monday through Friday. Legendary Players Guild is what I build on nights and weekends.

I am not a company that identified tabletop gaming as a market opportunity. I'm a GM who got tired of the prep.

Why it exists

Before every session I was doing the same loop: looking for generators online, generating an adventure or dungeon on one site, rolling NPCs on another, digging up a stat block on a third, then rebuilding the whole thing by hand inside a VTT. Every one of those tools was good, but the process was exhausting. None of them talked to each other, and the cost of gluing them together landed on me, the GM, every single week.

So I started building the thing I actually wanted to use — a series of generators that can hand that work directly to the table. Roll a dungeon, keep its keyed rooms and encounters intact, and open it as a live adventure, and my party could just start adventuring. No re-drawing walls. No re-typing room notes. That's the core idea, and everything else on this site exists to serve it.

Where it honestly stands

Early access, and I mean the words. 14 generators work right now, free, no account needed. The virtual tabletop runs and supports characters and dungeon generation. A meaningful chunk of the roadmap isn't built yet, which is why the pricing page separates “available now” from “in development” instead of letting you discover the difference after you've paid.

Version 1 is targeted for Q1 2027. I'm one person working evenings, and I would rather tell you that plainly than imply a team that doesn't exist.

What I'll commit to

  • Your work is yours. Characters, maps, campaigns, and custom content export in open formats, any time, on every tier including free.
  • You'll know what shipped. Every release is logged with a date on the changelog. If a feature slips, it slips publicly.
  • No ads, ever. Not on the free tier, not anywhere. I'd rather charge the people who find this useful than sell attention.
  • A real exit. If I ever can't keep this running, you get advance notice and a window to export everything. Not a 404 one morning.
  • A refund policy. [Refund policy — e.g. 7 days, no questions, on any membership.]

Getting in touch

Email me at contact@legendaryplayersguild.com. I read all of it and I answer it myself, usually within 24 hours. If you'd rather talk in the open, come find me on the guild forum — I'm in there.

If you find a bug, tell me. If you think a price is wrong, tell me that too. This is early enough that what you say actually changes what gets built.

Sincerely,
Matthew Leopin
